Evolution is the reward contributing to the survival of a system, from random deviations within every system.
To adapt in a specific environment, an individual needs "experience" within "fortunate opportunity".
The general concept of "adapt to survive" identifies an individuals efforts, but it doesn't include those conditions they don't have control over as being an active player in their adaptation.
Many of the environmental factors we live within, "notices" us! We become a facet on a diamond that catches their eye. Had we not sparkled, we would not be noticed. Those factors can then play into our adaptation.
If we choose to ignore our own influence on "factors we perceive to have no control over", we are limited to adapt within our own small percieved world.
However, if we recognize we are part of a larger environment and relate with formerly percieved ethereal factors; we include them in our adaptation. Our quality of life and perhaps our future survival can profoundly be influenced.
"Experience" is largely based upon our ability to remember, relate, and willingness to change our behaviors despite instinct.
"Fortunate opportunity" is largely coincidence acting within our lives, with some influence by us to allow coincidence to occur more frequently given our own vision of the "big picture".
