Under Construction
In mainstream science, there is a concept called "Unified Field Theory"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_field_theory
Where all forms of energy can theoretically be combined into a single set of related equations. However, since there are many forces that occur in scientific studies that are not currently explained, unification formulas are not presently possible.
I suspect that metaphysics and the paranormal events are contributors to the equations needed to complete the Unified Field formulas.
For instance, we strongly suspect that every atom influences every other atom in the Universe by way of gravity; even those that are 47 Billion light years away (furthest point presently known in the Universe). So whenever you move, to some small degree, you move everything else on the Earth a very small amount, specifically in ways related to how you move. The trillions of atoms of your mind have a collective influence on every other atom in every persons mind. Conversely, every other person on the planet moves you whenever they move, by some small amount.
Our minds are composed of chemical reactions; this is a type of movement; so gravity will influence all other matter in tiny amounts and in ways specific to your thoughts. So potentially, all of our minds are probably linked together in varying degrees by some similar mechanism.
Just because we don't understand metaphysics and the paranormal in terms of science as yet, does not invalidate our attempts to manipulate that which we do not fully understand. That is how the science of quantum physics works, they don't understand the mechanism by which the energies work, but through precise recording of their setups and the results, they can precisely predict the probabilities of various physical properties occurring; they can predict how often they will have a success in some intentional manipulations. Through varying the things researchers have control over, researchers can substantially increase the liklihood that a result will occur. More importantly, they discover new relationships that they previously did not know existed.

If the principals and tools of quantum mechanics were applied to metaphysics and the paranormal, I suspect there would be resurgence in mystic interests. People could repeatedly get verifiable results and procedures could be refined to scientific precision. Just because a procedure does not work 100% of the time, if it works 10% of the time that can be very significant; only 1 out of every 10 attempts. So you need to do the process 10 times to get the result desired, that is still a success.
Now let's say a variant is involved and we change its value or introduce another variant into the equation and now you get the result 20% of the time. The change doubled the likelihood of achieving the result; a 1 in 5 chance of working. Now you know you only have to do the process no more than 5 times to get a result, that is up to 5 less times than before. If documentation were not kept, after the 3rd failure the researcher might have given up on the effort; not knowing that they were close to finding a relationship to yield their desired result.
Through repeated experiments and careful monitoring and documentation of the process and results, unexpected relationships become obvious. Perhaps it is even useful to know what can be introduced to stop the result from occurring. Like introducing a nuclear poison to a critical thermal nuclear reactor, it reduces the temperature of the process by absorbing free thermal neutrons; keeping the nuclear reactor from running away. Sometimes you need a balancing factor to keep things in control.
Example of a Poor Experimental Setup
Something as simple as tea. If you do not control your variables in an experiment, you can get unexplained results. You brew a tea and set it on a window ledge to cool. Pollen from a tree overhead falls into the tea. You are not allergic to that particular pollen. Your guest drinks the tea who is mildly allergic to that particular pollen. The tea has a disturbing effect upon the guest and they are not so inclined to come visit again. You had no intent nor knowledge of the complications, but you observed an unexplained result.
The chances of repeating the experiment where the pollen would happen to fall from the tree at the right time is remote. This is an example of why some experiments give misleading result; an external influence occurred that the researcher did not anticipate.
Things to Think About in your Research
There are many resources for scientific experimentation protocol.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method
The following is just a brief outline of things you might want to think about before you start your search for knowledge experimentally:
- To start, you have been told, or you just have a gut feeling that there is a relationship between certain things that should result in some condition or event.
- Document your proposal
- who, what, where, when, why, and how
- MicroSoft Excel spreadsheet that could help in your research
- Determine how to document the qualities and quantities of the various components that you believe will contribute to the result
- Document the qualities and quantities oof the various components that you believe will be counterproductive to the result
- Determine how to actually measure the qualities and quantities for your experiment
- Document what you believe the variations (deviations) you might expect in the components of the experiment and the results
Collect your experimental components Document the beginning observable variables of your experiemental components and the environment of which it is manipulated - Vibrations
- Let us propose that you want to stratify a liquid into the different chemical compounds that exist at different densities. A small vibration may prevent this from happening because of the mixing action.
- vibrations can be a major factor in laboratory experiments, so much so that talking is not allowed and special tables may be required to actively neutralize vibrations transmitted from the ground caused by vehicles, Earth seismic activity, people walking, ...
- electric fields can induce vibrations into metal which can compromise a sensitive experiment
Conditions of physical Experimental Components - Purity
- Temperature
- Moistness
- Quantity

- photograph for later comparison
- sound recordings

Lighting - Time of Day

Animate Objects - People
- Animals
- Celestial bodies
- Computer sequences
- Plants
- ...
Other influences - Solar activity
- sun spots
- location of hot spot alignment with Earth
- ..
- Gravitational influences of the Moon
- New Moon/Full Moon
- forces pulling to the East/West
- amount of alignment of Moon/planets with Earth
- ...
Seasonal influences - pollen
- types of pollen in the air
- you may need to provide a HEPA air filter to keep a clean room for you to perform your experiments
solar declination asteroid activity amount of dust in the air - Weather conditions
- temperature and extremes
- humidity
- static electricity potential in the air
- wind
- periods between rains
- dew point
- ...
Perform the procedure as precisely as you can. - Document the procedure as precisely as you can
- Make notes of variations that you did not expect
- Use MicroSoft Excel or other statistical packages to correlate your results with your procedures
- The mathematical function called "correaltion" will equal 0.99999 if very strongly related, and 0.0000000 if not related at all. Numbers in between show how relatively strong data seems to correlate to the results.
- Small changes in experiments can have large influence in how strong a component influences the result. Like in chemistry, a small amount of catlyst can completely convert one compound to another, and virtually recover all of the catalyst while still getting the desired result.
Did you know there are four more planets (dwarf planets) then were taught in grade school before 1976? Eris, Quaoar, Sedna, and Orcus
Eris is supposedly so far away, about 100 times the distance from the Earth to the Sun, that if you stood on Eris the Sun would look about the size of any other star. I wonder what significant mystick value these planets have contributed in the past? Eris is about 25% larger than Pluto. Eris has one moon where Pluto has three.
The first inspiration, is the beginning of any journey; while the first step, is the first act of self-satisfaction.
Eventually, metaphysics and the paranormal may merge into one Unified Field of science.
