Self-Deception

Babes learn early, the art of manipulation;
smile bright and pearly, or crying with anticipation.
Who corrupts new young minds, with urgency more than merits;
deceptive reinforcement grinds, the suspects are the parents.
Deceptive emotion, tool to get their way;
children the victim, ethics become gray.
Unable to reason, life lived inconsistent;
each passing season, a child grows socially distant.
Confused by ethical relationships, victim of consequence from deception;
the balance of success tips, life filled with deceptive omission.
Don't lie to me son, what have you done;
lies told easier than confession.
For they know in their heart, the child will lie from the start;
without respect or apprehension.
Telling of story, will sound like the truth;
undeserved glory, an oft found ruse.
Conflict in time, person, place, or assertion, create suspicion between word and deed;
contradiction slaps the face of deduction, "poor ethics" shall not "Respect" heed.
The diligent visionary, creates opportunities to share;
these events are compensory, important and made with care.
Work ethic known by reference, risk judged by reputation;
empty words a death sentence, another failure from deception.
Never learning these ethical rules, to ensure reasonable success;
devoid of these tools, their lives ripple with anxious stress.
Look not to the respected, for your lot in life;
truth is daily tested, deception cutting as a knife.
Deception and lies, are like stars in the skies;
the victim need only to see.
For truth and respect, do absolutely reflect;
the opportunities offered to thee.
The deceiver in life, lives a troubled plight: no value to proclaim;
for a person rife with deception: is despised, untrusted, and shamed.
Prosperity squashed, by misrepresentation;
self-esteem lost, needing salvation.
Life is not over, indeed just beginning; lie not again in your life.
For what do you fear, that you need to lie or deceive;
look into the mirror, ......within you, ......you must believe.
You know the connections and tools,
...........between truth, respect, opportunity, and success.
You also know the connections and rules,
...........between lies, deceptive omission, failures, and redress.
Take action and do, say not any deceptions;
lying instantly labels you, as well as your family, friends, and associations.
Take the time to reflect, rebuild your foundation;
become worthy of respect, trust, and admiration.
